Just get the Doctor, post regeneration, to look at his hand and say "oh, that's new!" and pretty much leave it at that.

I'd rather have Robert Carlyle as the next doctor. Save the "Shocking" regeneration of skin color for the last one. The 13th doc can be Patterson Joseph...although I hear the bets are no longer in his favor as being cast anyways.

I watched both seasons of Torchwood this weekend. Season 1 is a lot less crap this time round, really enjoyed quite a lot of it. Actually viewing it as a stand alone series rather than Doc Who spin off, the swearing and rampant shagging in S1 doesnt seem half as intrusive.

I was going to have another stab at Torchwood S1, but the DVD I had of the eps after I stopped watching it skips. So I haven't been arsed.

EDIT: I think that would be good because, no matter who the next doctor is, it would immediately connect them to Tennant, so the change might not feel so bad for some people i guess

Just had an idea... I was watching The Stolen Earth again last night, which, arguably, the greatest cliffhanger in Who history to date.

So, with that debatable statement, what's your favourite cliffhanger from the series, old or Nu?

For me aside from TSE now, it's got to be Caves of Androzani Part One, with the firing squad.

Just watching Voyage of the Damned (just got rented) and I think I missed the bit where the Doctor realises he can't save Astrid and shouts "I can do anything" in frustration.

That's absolutely brilliant.

David Tennant's officially leaving DW in 2010, and rumours of the new Doctor are already running rampant.

One of the craziest: The Doctor regenerates into Donna Noble (thus giving Catherine Tate center stage on the show).

http://garysaid.com/chapters/003085....r%20Who%202008

The theory being that the Doctor accidentally absorbs some of the leftover energy from the "two-way bilogical metacrisis" seen in JOURNEY'S END, and regenerates into her clone.

Which would actually make a twisted sort of sense, but...uhm...yeah.

Indeed. This is Moffat's turn to build his series... his vision.

And aren't people forgetting the River Song arc that has yet to be played out. Be rather tricky with a female Doctor...

See, that's an awesome episode but not necessarily by its own merits. It's so crammed with cameos and references to events in New Who (as well as old Who) it's only great after seeing all the rest.
