20th Century Fox swore up and down that the script for AvP:R that Quint reviewed at AICN was not used, when lo and behold, the movie came out, and it was indeed the same reviewed script.

So just to be clear, you're uncategorically stating that the script review is fake, and that's not at all what your script is like?

Awww no love for Snakes on a Motherfucking Plane? lol

Hype is always a funny thing around movies. Everyone and their mum can slag a film off but until you see it yourself you may not know if you'll think it's awesome or a bomb.

I'll leave my decision on both Cloverfield and Star Trek until I've actually seen them with my own eyes and can judge for myself. Much like I just did with I Am Legend (thought it was 'ok' but not as good as those raving about it and not as bad as those slagging it off...although why on earth try to make a sequel!? Sometimes Hollywood never learns...hopefully it will never get greenlit and if it does it better have something great to bring to the table)

Yes.

No area 51. That makes no sense. The Earth KNOWS there are aliens. What possible meaning could an area 51 have?

No Kirk as bad student. We all know he's a genius.

No protesters with signs about anything.

Yes, there's great action, but we've said that in other interviews.

Snakes on a Plane was an unfortunate example (if ever there was one) of how fanboys should NOT be allowed to dictate how a movie is made or what goes in it.

Thanks Roberto. It's good to see someone in the system who can answer questions without double-speak or being cryptic all the time or not sound like they stepped out of 1984.

But the whole Time Travel bit still happens though...right? Old Spock And Young Spock have a meeting of such.

Personally, I don't like that bit. But I'm not the writer on this flick, so what I like or don't like has no merit.

Thanks for clearing that up, i was worried for a bit there.

I don't care if the canon is screwed with alittle (I said alittle) as long as the movie itself is well written and presented.

Besides, it can't be worse then Nemesis anyway.

Transformers was also a potential bomb (Bay, lousy but accurate leaked script) but what saved it was that despite its seriously flawed plot, it was entertaining and the Transformers, despite the Decepticon's brief appereances were impressive.

Star Trek is a whole different ball game, you screw the plot and it won't matter how much action and shit you throw at it it will suck. However the flash kiddies will probably love it (just like AVP and Spider-Man 3) and throw enough money at it to guarantee a sequel and perhaps trilogy such as Fantastic 4.
So dang true.

Phew. Thank you so much for clearing that up, Roberto.

I sincerely hope that this movie turns out well and the AMPTP stops their cowardly, bullying ways.

*Breaths a sigh of relief*

Sweet. Then I can still hope for this movie.

are the Romulans still the main villains though? Any Borg referrences? (I can dream, can't I?)

Oh, and a little of topic, but I got a question for the hardcore trekkies. In the movie "Undiscovered Country", General Worf is Kirk's defense counsil in his trial. Is that the same Worf in TNG? If so, damn, that guy is old!

Bob, I think I asked a similar question a year ago, how did your friends and family react to TFs, I can imagine christmas or holidays you get bombarded with questions from family, which is probably really cool.

You know what would be fun? Write the absolute worst script treatment imaginable and leak it. Make Kirk into a Klingon raised by humans with a power suit who fights a giant spider named Spock at the end. Imagine the potential chaos!

Quick! Stooge brainstorming session!

The truth about McCoy? He really ISN'T a doctor (thus the constant obsessive need to insist that he is) but rather an intergalactic criminal who managed to hide by posing as a surgeon. *nod*

He used to be married to Kirk.

Before Kirk's operation.

Holy crap! What a twist! Checkov is really a KGB sleeper, looking for ways to undermine the federation, and lead the former Soviet Union to a new age of glory. There's a very tense moment when he has to choose between his loyalty to the cause, and his new found Enterprise friends, who coincidentally all grew up in the same orphanage!
