It felt like a cartoon. And if that's okay with you, then I'm surprised. I thought the whole point of a live action movie was to allow Transformers to grow up and prove it can be up there with any other great film. If all you want from live action is the special effects that come with fitting robots and robot battles into a live action atmosphere, then frankly, that's a low expectation, because knowing what ILM can do, I simply took that for granted.

As for the robots looking like themselves, that was also something I took for granted. And evidently that was a mistake on my part. I don't hate the movie for it, but it definitely reduces the amount of personal enjoyment.

All true and the film felt like a 2 hour TV sit-com rather than a sci-fi epic and I didn't think that it was "AWESOME". If it was "awesome" then I would have bought the DVD and would have watched it more than once.

I didn't like the TFs being used for comic relief as much as they did. And the HUMANS were even worse when it came to "over doing" the comedy. But the comedy in other BAY films were always kinda corny to me but then TRANSFORMERS surpassed that. I mean we all knew that BERNIE MAC and ANTHONY ANDERSON was just in the film to make people laugh (because they are comedians) but even the SECTOR 7 stuff was redundant and I wished there was less screen time with all those HUMAN moments.

We all know that more TFs mean more CGI and more money but the "feel of the film" wasn't serious. If BAY said he "didn't want to make a silly toy movie" well he succeeded in doing what he said that he didn't want to do.

Just because it's based on a toyline FIRST didn't mean that one couldn't be more serious with it.

I'm not even defending Bumblebee. I'm just saying that according to the movie, Michael Bay and Hasbro, the yellow Camaro robot in the Transformers movie was Bumblebee.

Speaking of Bumblebee and trying to get things a tad back on topic, how will Bumblebee be written in the next movie? Now that he can actually talk (God damnit) what will his relationship be like with Sam? Also, with Sam at college now, what's Bumblebee going to do?

would it have been nice to see a vwb as BB, sure IMO for the fan level. For me, I always hated BB in the TF world, yes, yes I did, he was annoying and atotal pussy. So when he went to a tougher level it didnt bother me.
