You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Blue (a Sunday Posting)

Hey Stooges and all the ships at sea....

I'm still in Vancouver the city where it NEVER STOPS RAINING.

When my pal Duchovny dissed the city for that reason after he relocated the X Files out of here after 7 years I thought he was kidding. How bad can it be, right?

Well let me be clear- IT NEVER STOPS RAINING.

But things are going well with me Stooges. Reports have been asked for and reports you shall get.

--- ITEM!- Thanks so much to Jolin and Jester for their work on the third annual Spammies. This is the first year I have partaken and it was a lot of fun. They bring the glue that holds us all together. You guys really outdid yourselves this year and you deserve to take a bow. HIPPPP HIPPP HOOOORAH!

--- ITEM!- SHOOT 'EM UP- Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci were in LA this week where we shot an extension to our ending to give the audience a little final thrill. New Line has scheduled the opening for September 7. This is a crazy ass movie but I think you'll like it. I just read the director, Michael Davis' new script and he outdid himself for crazy action. It is so sexy and so violent that I can't wait to see if we can get it made. Good luck to us.

--- ITEM!- WHILE SHE WAS OUT- two weeks left of shooting. We had Kim (Basinger) fighting with one of the boys this week. The ferocity and intensity of her performance was amazing. There is a reason she is a movie star. This film will surprise everyone I think. Simple, straightforward, but thrilling. It is something that could happen to anyone.

--- ITEM!- FACES OF DEATH- gonna have announcement in a week or two. This film will be the most clever horror film in a long time.

--- ITEM!- TRANSFORMERS- The cut screened for the studio last week. I am up in the rain so I missed it. The studio is excited. This blockbuster continues to show just HOW big it will be. You will believe a robot from space can kick ass. Here are the answers to all the questions I get on this one-

---------- No decision from Michael about Welker yet. Honestly I don't know how that is going to turn out. I know that I am on the record as wanting Frank. I know that the fans have made it clear that it must be Frank. I don't think it would be ludicrous to have him. But it is Michael's call.
---------- No I won't be with Skorponok at the Vegas ShowWest. It will be fun to hear about what a great idea he thought Transfomers was since he wasn't involved with it from the beginning. I don't know if anyone noticed a previous interview I did, but let's repeat it- EVERY studio passed on this movie. EVERY STUDIO. Only after that happened did all of a sudden interest reappear. The only people who KNEW this was going to be huge were Tom Desanto and that guy with the goofy picture above. Believe it as you hear about history being rewritten. Or ask Skorpy about it yourself. In the meantime Shia will be there too. He is a GREAT GREAT guy. Hi Five him for me if you are there.
-----------Yes there will be another trailer with more details. Probably at the start of the summer season. But you can watch the one we have a few more times if you want to. It is still on line.

Thanks for everything Stooges.

Hang tight!

I just saw the Famous Magazine (Cineplex theater's in-house publication) spot for a chance to win a premiere screening of Transfomers in Hollywood.

Hope you don't get all soggy out there in Vancouver Don....remember step through the raindrops. Heh!

Ah, but that would likely ruin a perfectly good carpet. Nevermind.

The whole time Skorpy will be commenting on how ridiculous and unbelievable this would look on screen.

So noted....it's on record and will be used against you in future bashing of your northern brethren.

I dunno. Don seems to have good taste. He'd probably want to use some of that good carpet you find in the fancy carpet stores.

Are there carpet stores? I don't usually go about acquiring carpet. I don't know these things.

For the record, Don, I truly do envy you. I'm a true son of Oregon, having grown up in the cold and wet. And there's nothing I love more than a true downpour.

I can't wait to see SEU for all the things I'm hearing about it. All the best wishes in getting it made.

But do you have any idea or control in regard to when we can look forward to Transformers VA announcements? Do you have any idea why the voice cast wasn't locked so many months ago? Not to sound ingrateful, it's just I've been wondering about that for some time now.

Can't wait for the next trailer.

And when did we nickname diBonaventura "Skorpy"?

Hiya Don!

Can't wait to see the new TF trailer. Also, I can't wait to see SEU too. The only tidbits I know about the movie are the ones I've read here, but it seems it will be a great movie to watch.

And about the idea of throwing Skorpy down a bridge...make sure at the bottom there's no water. There's no reason to poison the poor fishies.

I visited Vancouver once only for a few days and it only rained a little bit.

SEU sounds great. I hope it doesn't get ragged on because it has Clive Owen running around with a baby, after Children of men just did that.
Shoot em up was made first, but since the release is later, people might make that connection. Shoot 'em up is gonna be another cult classic for you.

anyway, at least try to enjoy the countless things vancouver has to offer. the local mountains! snowboarding/skiing. the wonderful all you can eat sushi all around town. the vibrant night life...omg...its great...
so why am i here studying in sydney? i don't know...but hey...enjoy vancouver don!! don't let the rain get to you. let the green grass cheer you up.
